Where does National come from?

Unread post by Kirk »

Etymology is the origin of words and what they meant at the time of creation.

national (adj.)
"of or pertaining to a nation or a country regarded as a whole; established and maintained by the nation; peculiar to the whole people of a country," 1590s, from French national (16c., from Old French nacion), and also from nation + -al (1). Opposed to local or provincial (or in the U.S., state).

Meaning "peculiar or common to the whole people of a country" is by 1620s. From 1802 as "established and maintained by the nation or its laws."
***As a noun, "citizen of a (particular) nation," from 1887.*** Related: Nationally.

8 USC 1101 (a)

(21)The term “national” means a person owing permanent allegiance to a state.

(22)The term “national of the United States” means (A) a citizen of the United States, or (B) a person who, though not a citizen of the United States, owes permanent allegiance to the United States.

(36)The term “State” includes the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands of the United States, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. [The United States of America IS NOT here]

8 USC § 1101(b)(3) The term “person” means an individual or an organization.

National AS A NOUN did NOT come into being until 1887, AFTER the Reconstruction Acts of 1871 changing our form of Government into a Corporation is ONLY found in the by-laws of the Corporation.

Law of Nations (Vattel)
Book I Chapter XIX §212. Citizens and natives.
The citizens are the ***members*** of the civil society: ***bound*** to this society by ***certain duties, and subject to its authority***, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see, whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country. <102>

Constitution for the United States of America Article VI Clause 3
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the ***members*** of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be ***bound*** by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

Therefore Public servants are the Citizens as it is written.

§213. Inhabitants
The inhabitants, as distinguished from citizens, are foreigners, who are permitted to settle and stay in the country. Bound to the society by their residence, they are subject to the laws of the state, while they reside in it; and they are obliged to defend it, because it grants them protection, though they do not participate in all the rights of citizens. They enjoy only the advantages which the law or custom gives them. The perpetual inhabitants are those who have received the right of perpetual residence.
These are a kind of citizens of an inferior order, and are united to the society, without participating in all its advantages. Their children follow the condition of their fathers; and as the state has given to these the right of perpetual residence, their right passes to their posterity.

Articles of Confederation 1781

Article IV
The better to secure and perpetuate mutual friendship and intercourse among the people of the different States in this Union, the ***free inhabitants*** of each of these States, paupers, vagabonds, and fugitives from justice excepted, shall be entitled to all privileges and immunities of free citizens in the several States;

Our Founders created a one of kind Form of Government. A Capitalist Confederate Republic.
Capitalism refers to an economic system in which a society’s means of production are held by private ***individuals or organizations*** [<--- person = Corporations/Businesses], not the government, and where products, prices, and the distribution of goods are determined mainly by competition in a free market.

In conclusion: We have 3 Status's here in this Nation called America. !. Free Inhabitants. 2. People, We the People, who are the Business/Corporation owners, the tax payers paying the bills to pay the Emoluments of Government/Citizens. 3. Citizens which the Elected Officials or those appointed/employed to a position of Public Trust: Heads of Departments etc.

So many people who fell for this absolutely refuse to accept they were hornswaggled. Their ego refuses to believe they were beguiled by the serpent. I feel bad for them and have been warning everyone who would listen.
“First, let no one rule your mind or body. Take special care that your thoughts remain unfettered... . Give men your ear, but not your heart. Show respect for those in power, but don't follow them blindly. Judge with logic and reason, but comment not. Consider none your superior whatever their rank or station in life. Treat all fairly, or they will seek revenge. Be careful with your money. Hold fast to your beliefs and others will listen.”
“Wise? No, I simply learned to think.”
